All about me:
I was a ESL student at DePaul University where I earned my Bachelors Degree in Education Suma Cum Laude in 2009. In 2014, I graduated from National Louis University, with a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and endorsements in ESL and Bilingual Education.
I joined the TWI program at Washington, Dewey and Oakton Schools as the Newcomer Teacher in 2009. I choose to be a teacher, because I enjoy helping children achieving success. I want my students to experience a meaningful and interesting learning experience that applies to their lives and cultures. Having lived in Mexico for many years, has given me the knowledge and fluency in Spanish necessary to teach in both languages.
Being a lifelong learner and an ESL myself I try to keep my knowledge actualized through readings, professional development, articles and books. I am very fortunate to have recently joined the Walker School family as the ESL teacher.
